🪶 Meet Wally the Woodpecker
Wally the Woodpecker is the backyard’s hardworking symbol of **dedicated purpose** and **mindful communication**. He is known for the steady, rhythmic beat of his work, always focused on the task at hand and ensuring his messages are clear and well-timed. Wally teaches us the value of persistent, focused effort and how to use our voice effectively, speaking clearly and purposefully.
He is often seen tapping at Whisper the Great Oak, keeping the old tree free of tiny nuisances, a service he performs with great pride. Wally's drumming is a comforting sound, and he works closely with Opal the Owl, sharing important news and observations from the air. He moves with quick, sharp movements, always direct and on point.
In every story, Wally reminds us to focus on the work God has given us, and to use our words—and even our actions—to send clear, helpful messages to our friends.

🪶 Wally’s Story Corner
Milo the Mouse had a very quiet, uncertain voice, and he was struggling to get the attention of Roger the Rooster and Chloe the Chicken, who were talking loudly nearby. Milo kept trying to tell them about a sweet new patch of berries he had found, but his small voice was lost in their chatter.
Wally, hearing Milo's weak attempts, landed on a nearby branch. *Tap-tap-TAP!* Wally sent a clear, rhythmic burst of sound. The loud drumming instantly quieted Roger and Chloe, who looked up.
Wally pointed his beak gently toward Milo. "Listen closely, friends," he communicated clearly, "Milo has an important message. Good communication means knowing when to be quiet and when to listen."
Milo, feeling respected and heard, was then able to clearly tell them about the berries, and they all enjoyed a wonderful feast.
