Toby the Turtle is the backyard’s steadfast teacher of **patience** and **protected peace**. He is slow and steady, never rushing, and always reminds his friends that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Toby teaches us that when we feel overwhelmed or threatened, we can retreat into the safe stillness of our own hearts, knowing that God is our ultimate protection.
He enjoys his time near the pond, sharing gentle wisdom with Felix the Frog and observing the changing seasons. Toby moves deliberately and never gives up on a task, knowing that slow, faithful progress always wins the race. His shell serves as a constant symbol of the protective armor of faith.
In every story, Toby reminds us to be patient in affliction, knowing that our steadfastness is a gift from the Lord.

🐢 Toby’s Story Corner
Cosmo the Cricket was jumping up and down in frustration. He had tried three times to climb the smooth, mossy stone near the water, and he kept sliding back down. "I'll never make it! It's too hard, Toby!" he chirped.
Toby, who was slowly making his way up the same stone, stopped and pulled his head out just enough to look at Cosmo. "Patience, little friend," he said slowly. "If you rush, you will fall. If you go too slowly, you may get discouraged. Find the right rhythm for your feet, and don't look at the top—just look at the very next spot."
Cosmo took Toby's advice, focused on tiny, careful jumps, and soon, he was resting right next to Toby at the top of the stone.
